Baikunthanath Das was born in the village of Rasulpur in the Balasore district of Odisha. He was the son of Sardar Surendranath Das and was a veteran Congress worker who participated in the Salt Satyagraha. During the Civil Disobedience Movement, he was under police surveillance for 10 months in 1932.
In August 1942, when the Quit India agitation started, he actively participated and was arrested for his anti-British activities. Unfortunately, he died in police detention due to severe torture in 1942.
