Ganesh Damodar Savarkar

Ganesh Damodar Savarkar (Aged 66) also known as Babarao Savarkar, was born on 13 June 1879. He was an Indian politician, activist, nationalist, and the founder of the Abhinav Bharat Society. Ganesh was the eldest of the Savarkar brothers and had to take responsibility for his family after his parents passed away when he was just twenty years old.

He led an armed movement against the British colonial government in India, and as a result, he was sentenced to transportation for life. In retaliation, Anant Laxman Kanhere assassinated A.M.T. Jackson, the then collector of Nasik. Ganesh passed away on 16 March 1945.
