Gracy Aaron born in Calicut, worked as a teacher in a school in the same city. She initiated her social and political activities by founding a Mahila Samajam in Pappinasseri, Kannur, to aid orphans and destitute women. In 1916, she married Samuel Aaron, a prominent freedom fighter of Malabar, and was a strong supporter of his struggle for freedom. Gracy Aaron actively participated in the boycott of foreign clothes and liquor, and campaigned against untouchability. She championed the cause of Swadeshi, Khadi, and constructive works of the national movement.
In 1930, Gracy Aaron became a member of the Kerala Provincial Congress Committee, and distributed Charkha to fellow women, encouraging them to spin. She participated in the Salt Satyagraha in Calicut, and organized a protest march in the name of Mahila Samajam in November 1930, resulting in her arrest and a six-month imprisonment. When the Congress party was banned in 1930, Gracy Aaron became the ‘Dictator’ of the Congress party to ensure its smooth functioning.
Gracy Aaron and her husband Samuel Aaron were closely associated with Gandhiji and C. F. Andrews. She was arrested again in 1930 for taking part in the Civil Disobedience Movement. Gracy Aaron continued her social and political activities until her death on 18 November 1967.
