Mrigendra Nath Datta (Aged 18) was born on October 27, 1915, in the village of Paharipara in the Midnapur district of West Bengal, India. His father’s name was Beni Madhab Dutta, and he completed his early education at Midnapur Town School. Datta was an Indian revolutionary and a member of the Bengal Volunteers who carried out assassinations against British colonial officials in an attempt to secure Indian independence.
On September 2, 1933, Datta took part in the shooting of District Magistrate B.E.J. Burge at the Police Grounds in Midnapur, West Bengal. He was seriously wounded in the firing by the police guards and died on September 3, 1933, at the Midnapur Sadar Hospital.
