Ram Narayan Singh

Babu Ram Narayan Singh (Aged 79) was born in 1885 and was a noted freedom fighter, social worker, and politician from Hazaribagh. Along with his brother Sukhlal Singh, he was among the early Congress workers from Chatra who led the Non-Cooperation Movement with other young congress leaders like Krishna Ballabh Sahay, Raj Ballabh Singh, and Badri Singh of Koderma.

Babu Ram Narayan Singh and Krishna Ballabh Sahay were imprisoned for a month by the British during 1920-21. The district gazetteers of India also make a note that notable participants in the independence movement from Chhatra district include Babu Ram Narayan Singh and Babu Shaligram Singh, who led the Quit India movement and were imprisoned several times by the British for their nationalist activities. Babu Ram Narayan Singh passed away in 1964.
