Sadhu Gaikwad

Sadhu Gaikwad, a resident of Bombay, Maharashtra, was a soldier in the Bengal Sappers and Miners Regiment of the British-Indian Army. However, he shifted his loyalty to the Indian National Army in 1942 in Malaya and joined as a Lance-Naik in the First Engineer Company. After his deployment on the Burma (now Myanmar) front, he fought against the British on several occasions. In 1945, Sadhu Gaikwad was killed in the battleground by British troops during an engagement.
