Somay Soren, a resident of Kathialdih village in Santhal Parganas, Bihar (now in Jharkhand), was the son of Dahu Soren. He actively participated in the Quit India movement of 1942 and was arrested for his anti-British activities. He was imprisoned in Dumka Jail where he passed away on 29 May 1943.
