Anna Patil was born in the village of Ichalakaranji, in the Taluka of Hatkanangale, district of Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India. He received an education up to the seventh standard. Inspired by Gandhiji, he participated in the Quit India movement of 1942, mainly as an underground worker. Unfortunately, he suffered fatal injuries in a clash with the British police in Hupri Park, Kolhapur, in the early days of 1945 and passed away on the spot.
