Bachan Koiri

Bachan Koiri was a resident of Mairwa village and police station in Siwan district, Bihar, India. He actively participated in the Quit India movement of 1942.

On 15 September 1942, while trying to hoist the Congress flag on a government building, he was killed in police firing in Siwan, Bihar. It is worth noting that the Quit India movement saw police brutality not only in Siwan but also in Bengal, Jharkhand, Orissa, Assam, and the North-East between 1857 and 1947.
