Bama Charan Chakraborty

(Tripura)

Bama Charan Chakraborty, hailing from the village of Marachara in Kamalpur Town, Dhalai District of Tripura, India, stands as an uncelebrated hero. He was born to Tarini Charan Chakraborty, and his family originally hailed from Sylhet, which is now part of Bangladesh. Notably, Bama Charan Chakraborty was documented to have endured a period of imprisonment lasting ten months and fifteen days during 1930-31.

His deep-rooted inspiration came from Mahatma Gandhi’s Civil Disobedience Movement, and he wholeheartedly joined this movement with unwavering dedication and fervor, all in the hopes of witnessing a free and independent India.
