Bimal Kumar Sarker

Bimal Kumar Sarker, born in Bishnupur, Bankura, was the son of Satish Chandra Sarker. He completed his matriculation and became an active member of the Yugantar Party. In 1933, he was arrested for alleged involvement in the Bishnupur Mail Action and was later sentenced to six years of rigorous imprisonment along with another co-accused, Mritunjoy Banerjee.

While in prison, Bimal Kumar Sarker participated in the hunger strike in July 1937, which lasted for 37 days. He was eventually repatriated in 1937 and released from prison in 1939.
