Birendra Chandra Sen

Birendra Chandra Sen, whose father’s name was Kailash Chandra Sen, was born in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. He was a college student when he got arrested in the Alipore Bomb case, and he was sentenced to 7 years of rigorous imprisonment. He was repatriated in 1914 and released one year later in 1915, but he was kept interned for four years. He was arrested again during the ‘Quit India’ movement in 1942 and served 10 months of imprisonment. Birendra Chandra Sen passed away at Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry. Hem Sen and Martyr Sushil Sen were his brothers.
