Brajkishore Prasad (Aged 69) was born in 1877 in Srinagar, Siwan district, Bihar, India. He was a lawyer who was inspired by Mohandas Gandhi during the Indian Independence Movement. He met Mahatma Gandhi in 1915 and was so inspired that he decided to give up his legal practice and become involved full-time in the freedom struggle.
He played a pivotal role in Gandhi’s Champaran and Kheda Satyagraha movements. Gandhi even handpicked Rajendra Prasad and Anugrah Narayan Sinha to lead the movements along with Prasad.
Gandhi was deeply impressed by Prasad’s dedication and even dedicated a chapter to him in his autobiographical book, The Story of My Experiments with Truth, titled “The Gentle Bihari”. During the last ten years of his life, Prasad was severely ill and infirmed. He passed away in 1946.
