Gandhi Ashramam A. Krishnan, born on September 7, 1908, in the Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu, India, dedicated his life to the Tiruchengodu Gandhi Ashramam, which he joined in 1930. During 1932-33, he actively participated in the freedom movement under the guidance of Rajaji, resulting in a two-year imprisonment. Krishnan held a strong passion for handicrafts and in 1940, he relocated to the Wardha Gandhi Ashram near Nagpur, where he introduced innovative techniques for producing handmade paper. He passed away in 1985.
