Goruru Ramaswamy Iyengar (Aged 87), also known as Goruru, was born on July 4, 1904, in Gorur, Karnataka, India. He was an Indian writer who wrote in Kannada and was well-known for his humor and satire. Goruru was born at “Goruru” in the Hassan district of Karnataka in 1904 to his father Srinivas Iyengar and mother Lakshamma.

Goruru Ramaswamy Iyengar was influenced by the Indian Independence Movement and became a staunch follower of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. Goruru was jailed by the British administration in 1942 for 2 months for his participation in the Quit India Movement. He passed away on September 28, 1991, in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
