Anna Horey (Aged 78) born in 1865 in the Sangli district of Maharashtra, was a participant in several Indian freedom movements. He actively participated in the Civil Disobedience movement of 1930, as well as in the Quit India movement that began on August 8, 1942. He also participated in anti-war propaganda from 1939 to 1943. However, he was arrested in late 1942 and was sentenced to six months of rigorous imprisonment, and all his properties were confiscated. Unfortunately, due to severe physical torture inflicted upon him by the police, he passed away in jail in February 1943.
