Kshitish Chandra Sanyal (Aged 80) was born in 1889 in Chapra, Kustia, West Bengal (now Bangladesh), India. His father’s name was Girish Chandra Sanyal, who was a pleader. While he was a college student, he joined the revolutionary party in 1908 and actively participated in the anti-Partition movement of Bengal from 1905 to 1907.
In March 1915, he was arrested under the Defence of India Act from a mess in Hartakibagan Lane. Subsequently, he was made an accused in the Nadia Conspiracy Case. The judgment given on 15th August 1915 sentenced him to ten years of transportation. The other three convicted revolutionaries along with him were Ashutosh Lahiri, Phanibhusan Roy, and Gopendralal Roy.
He was deported to the Andamans on 13th September 1915. After four years, he was repatriated in February 1919 and was lodged in Sabarmati Jail, Gujarat. He was released on 8th September 1922 after serving a three-year term. He breathed his last on 27th January 1969.
