Smt. Radhadevi Azad (Aged 89) was born in 1924 in Indore to a reputed business family. She joined the freedom movement along with her husband and traveled hundreds of miles to carry patriotic messages of Gandhiji to the masses. She participated in several movements and was imprisoned many times.
She worked tirelessly for the upliftment of women and left her indelible mark in the field of social service even after independence. A special cover is being released to commemorate Smt. Radhadevi Azad’s contribution to the nation on the occasion of the celebration of the 75th year of independence. She passed away in 2013.
