Raja Beni Madho Singh

Raja Beni Madho Singh was a resident of Shankarpur in the Avadh region of Uttar Pradesh. He was appointed as the Administrator of Jaunpur and Azamgarh by Nawab Birjis Qadr of Avadh, and he was also the Raja of Shankarpur. He joined the Great Revolt against British rule in 1857 and played a significant role in organizing the revolutionary war effort in Avadh.

In several battles against the British, he displayed great valor as a warrior while leading the revolutionary troops. He continued the fight against the British until the end of 1858, after which he escaped to the Nepal hills along with Begum Hazrat Mahal, the Regent of Avadh. As Barordiah, he fought in several battles including those in Chitwan, Bhutwal, and Nayakot on the Nepal border, and he died while fighting in one of these encounters with British troops.
