Ram Prasad Bismil (Aged 30) is renowned for his involvement in the 1918 Mainpuri conspiracy and for his pamphlet named ‘Deshwasiyongenam Sandesh’. During World War I, he joined the revolutionary movement of the Indian subcontinent and became a member of the Matravedi Society. The Matravedi Society was a revolutionary organization whose members were willing to lay down their lives for Indian independence, and they were known for carrying out armed robberies and distributing revolutionary leaflets.
Ram Prasad Bismil was one of the founding members of the Hindustan Republican Party (HRA), and later, he became the true leader of the HRA after the other leaders disappeared. The HRA robbed a train on August 9, 1945, in Kagori, which was a few kilometers away from Lucknow Central. Although the robbery did not go according to plan, the evidence left at the crime scene in the shape of a bedsheet led to the capture of the HRA revolutionaries by the British authorities.
Ram Prasad Bismil was hanged on December 19, 1927, at Gorakhpur Jail when he was only 30 years old.
