Ravindra Kelekar (Aged 85), born on 7 March 1925 in Goa, India, was a notable Indian author who primarily wrote in the Konkani language, but also in Marathi and Hindi. He was a participant in the Indian freedom movement as well as Goa’s liberation movement.
Deeply influenced by Gandhian philosophy, Kelekar left his native Goa for Wardha in 1949. He was an active participant in Goa’s struggle for freedom and was imprisoned by the Portuguese. He was released when the Indian Army invaded and annexed Goa in 1961. He passed away by 27 August 2010, Goa, India.
