S. Gopala Krishna Yadav

S. Gopala Krishna Yadav (Aged 87) was a native of the Virudhunagar District in Tamil Nadu, India, born on the 15th of November, 1917, to Chinnan Servai and Sivaniyammal. His involvement in various movements began in 1933, during which he actively participated in actions such as boycotting foreign cloth, picketing toddy shops, and taking part in the Salt Satyagraha. In 1941, during the Satyagraha, he walked from Virudhunagar to Madras and was subsequently arrested by the Royapettah Police in Madras. He spent eight weeks in prison at the Madras Central Jail.

In 1942, he played a role in the Quit India Movement and was incarcerated for two months in the Madurai Central Jail. Following his release, he became a prominent figure in the matchbox industry in Kalugumalai, providing assistance to numerous individuals. He also held the position of president at the Madurai Yadav College for Women. S. Gopala Krishna Yadav passed away on the 23rd of November, 2004.
