Sadashiv Pathak (Aged 24), who was born in 1914 in the village Kasbe, Dist. Sholapur, Maharashtra, was the son of Vishwanath Pathak. He had received education up to the fourth standard and was a farmer by profession. In 1930, he participated in the Civil Disobedience movement in Sholapur. Later, he was one of the agitators against the autocratic rule in Hyderabad State, and on 8 August 1938, he suffered serious injuries in the lathi-charge by the Nizam’s police. He was then arrested and imprisoned in the Chachalguda (Hyderabad) Jail, where he was subjected to brutal physical torture by the jail administration. Sadashiv Pathak died in detention after five days.
