Shachinder Nath Sanyal (Aged 50) was born in 1893 in Varanasi, Banaras, Uttar Pradesh, India. He became a revolutionary at a young age and was involved with the Anushilan Samiti, was close to Rash Behari Bose, and guided the Ghadar Party. Sanyal spent much of his life in jail, having received two life sentences. While in jail, he wrote “Bandi Jivan,” a book that every revolutionary read. In 1924, Sanyal founded the Hindustan Revolutionary Association/Army (HRA), uniting revolutionaries from all over India. All four of the Sanyal brothers were part of the revolutionary movement. Shachinder Nath Sanyal died in jail in 1942.
