Shahadu Bendale (Aged 60) was born in 1882 in the village of Krishnapur, taluka Pachora, Dist. Jalgaon, Maharashtra. His father’s name was Chintaman Bendale. During the ‘Quit India’ movement that began on 8th August 1942, he actively participated in the movement. On 26th August 1942, he joined a public meeting in Pachora to defy the British Government’s orders and demand their ouster from India. However, as the agitated people gathered, the police arrived and opened indiscriminate fire. Tragically, Shahadu Bendale was hit by bullets and died on the spot.
