Shri kshem chandra sumen

(1916 -1993) – (Uttar Pradesh)

Shri Kshem Chandra Suman (Aged 77), known as Acharya Kshem Chand ‘Suman,’ was born on September 16, 1916, in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. He was a renowned Hindi writer and journalist who received the prestigious Padma Shri award in 1984. One of his most significant contributions was the creation of the ‘Late Hindi Sahityasevi Kosh,’ a two-part publication that stands as a testament to his dedication.

To compile this remarkable work, Suman meticulously traversed the length and breadth of India, visiting villages, towns, and cities on foot. While Banarasidas Chaturvedi aimed to highlight the sacrifices of freedom fighters and martyrs, as well as assist their dependents, Suman’s focus was on supporting fellow writers. Unfortunately, due to illness, he passed away on October 23, 1993.
