Tulsi Ram Panchghare

(1910 – 1946) – (Maharashtra)

Tulsi Ram Panchghare (Aged 36) was born in 1910 in the village of Arvi, District Wardha, Maharashtra, India. His father’s name was Sankharam Panchghare. Although he was educated only up to the seventh standard, he actively participated in the ‘Quit India’ movement in August 1942. He took part in an anti-British demonstration which hoisted the tricolor over the Ashti police station on August 16, 1942. As a result, Tulsi Ram Panchghare was arrested and imprisoned in Wardha Jail. While in jail, he was subjected to severe torture by the police. Unfortunately, he died there in 1946.
