Udhav Khemaskar(Aged 20) born in 1924 in Chimur village of Chandrapur district, Maharashtra, was a social worker who received education up to the seventh standard. He actively participated in the ‘Quit India’ movement initiated on August 8, 1942, by joining a protest demanding the British to leave India. However, he was arrested and detained in the Nagpur jail, where he was tortured by the jail administration. Unfortunately, Udhav Khemaskar died in the Nagpur jail in 1944.
