Veerabattina Mogalayya was a political worker and resident of Warangal proper in the Warangal district of Hyderabad, Telangana, India. In 1944, he participated in the annual session of the Andhra Saraswat Parishat held in the Warangal Fort where he lost his leg while resisting an attack by communal elements on conference workers.
Despite the threats of the Razakars, Mogalayya hoisted the Indian National Flag on the Warangal Fort on 11 August 1946. However, as a result of this act, Mogalayya was later killed by the Razakars in front of his helpless mother, who witnessed this ghastly tragedy.
