Virayya Hiremath (Aged 22) was born in 1921 in the village of Koganur, located in Dharwad district of Karnataka, India. His father’s name was Ayyappayya Hiremath, who was a farmer and had received education up to the primary level. Virayya Hiremath took part in the Quit India movement of 1942. However, while attempting to raid the government treasury on 1 April 1943, he sustained bullet wounds and died on the same day.
