Ziparu Jagtap

Ziparu Jagtap (Aged 30) was the son of a cultivator named Tanu Jagtap born in 1900 in the village of Karbhel in Nasik district, Maharashtra, India. He actively participated in the Civil Disobedience movement in 1930 in Maharashtra and joined the Jungle (Forest) Satyagraha in Baglam and Kalwan talukas of Nasik district, protesting against the levying of grazing fees. On October 19, 1930, he was involved in a protest demonstration against the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police at Chanakapar, during which the police opened fire on the demonstrators, resulting in the deaths of four people, including Ziparu Jagtap.
